Welcome to the Dollhouse
This blog was born out of heartbreak. Long story, short – Ken dumped Country Club Barbie (yours truly). When that happened, this Country Club Barbie – henceforth known as CCB – needed therapy.
During a break-up people nurse their wounds in a variety of manners. There’s retail therapy, comfort food therapy, alcohol therapy, controlled substance therapy, rebound therapy, ACTUAL therapy . . . I’m starting to feel like Bubba on Forrest Gump so I’m going to stop here. You get the point; there are lots of ways to ease the pain of having your heart ripped out, run over by a bus and stomped on by a size 12 Nike. I decided that, for me, therapy would come in the form of writing. After all, shopping becomes too expensive, comfort food makes you gain weight, hangovers are never fun, controlled substances are illegal and addictive (say “No” to drugs, kids!), rebounding is a messy business and I’m not crazy so no shrink needs to be involved.
And such, my blog was born! I hope that by sharing my journey from heartbreak to healing with other young, fly, flashy and fabulous singles out there I might be able to help someone else who is experiencing heartbreak. And, I just hope that you’ll be able to find humor/encouragement/growth/insert warm fuzzy feeling here in life’s journeys, just as I have.

Just one housekeeping item: I plan to start out blogging a couple of times a week. If my adoring public demands more of me, I just might give it to ‘em. We’ll have to see.
Without further adieu . . . Welcome to the Dollhouse!
Signed,
Country Club Barbie

I love that you started writing for catharsis. Writing got me through high school…and through other hard times in my life. You’re awesome and I hope we get to hang out more now that i live on your coast!
xo!
